
Prof. Zeqir Veselaj

Dr. Zeqir Veselaj is a highly regarded expert in biological sciences and ecology, with a background in environmental education and sustainable development. He holds a PhD in biological sciences and was awarded a Fulbright Visiting Scholar position at Arizona State University. Dr. Veselaj teaches environmental education, education for sustainable development and science education, particularly in the context of biology teaching and learning. Significant contributions to numerous national and international projects focusing on biodiversity, protected areas, and climate change, including the assessment of climate change impacts on educational curricula at pre-university and higher education levels.
His leadership experience includes participation in the International Visitor Leadership Program in 2010 in the USA. Dr. Veselaj has actively engaged in educational policymaking through roles in various bodies, including Core Curriculum Development, the Editorial Board of the University of Prishtina, the State Teacher Licensing Council, and the Steering Board of the University of Prishtina.
He has published extensively in the fields of science education, nature conservation, biodiversity, environmental education, and sustainable development. In recognition of his significant contributions, Dr. Veselaj received the Civil Society Scholar Award from the Open Society Institute in 2021.
